Andrew T Yang

Andrew T Yang has been a serial entrepreneur and a lead private investor since 1993. In particular, his primary interest is early-stage enablement of technology and business for automation of complex engineering, data, and life science.

Yang was a co-founder and served as CEO of Apache Design Solution since 2001 focusing on low-power design automation for advanced mobile semiconductor and chip technologies. Following the acquisition by ANSYS in 2011, Yang served as VP and General Manager until 2014.

Yang was a tenured professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington for a number of years and was a recipient of the NSF Young Investigator Award in 1991. Yang was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award of Electrical and Computer Engineering department, and the College of Engineering in 2010 and 2013 respectively, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Yang holds a BSEE degree from UC Berkeley, MSEE and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
