UW ECE External Advisory Board Charter
Purposes: The Electrical & Computer Engineering Advisory Board will convene in order to:

- Strategize on opportunities around the ECE name change and assist in defining the department’s unique brand
- Serve as an advocate for ECE both inside and outside the University of Washington
- Support the educational, research, service, and overall mission of ECE
- Provide industry perspective and feedback on sustainable growth strategies for ECE
Membership: The committee will have 12-18 members including academia, industry, and government.
Terms of office: Members are selected to serve a three-year term. Members may be asked to serve for one or more subsequent terms at the discretion of the ECE chair based on the needs of the department.
Leadership: The board chair(s) will be appointed by the ECE chair. Meetings: Board meetings will be held twice annually. The agenda for the meeting will be developed by the ECE chair in collaboration with the board chair(s). An informal dinner will be held the evening prior to the meeting.
Expectations: Members of the ECE board are expected to regularly attend the meetings, prepare for the meeting’s agenda using materials provided, and advocate for the department as appropriate.
Staffing: ECE Executive Assistant to the Chair, Erika Toto, will work closely with the ECE chair and board chair(s) in providing administrative support for the advisory board.
