Ted Kummert

Ted joined Madrona Venture Group in early 2023 for his third chapter with the firm, transitioning from his role as Chief Product Development Officer at UiPath. Bringing decades of experience from leadership roles in product and engineering, Ted is now a Venture Partner focused on evaluating new investments and advising portfolio companies. He first joined Madrona in 2013 after ending a 23+ year career at Microsoft, where he held several roles leading development organizations that built operating systems, consumer online services, enterprise security, enterprise application platforms, and data platforms. Following his initial time at Madrona, Ted played transformative roles leading Products & Engineering at Apptio and UiPath, guiding both companies through successful IPOs and leading major product and platform expansions. With deep expertise in enterprise software, data platforms, and intelligent applications, Ted is dedicated to supporting innovative tech companies as they scale and succeed. He also chairs the University of Washington’s Electrical Engineering Industry Advisory Board and serves on the board of SingleStore.
